Overview

Being told there are safeguarding concerns about your child, or being drawn into a children's services process, is frightening and confusing. You may not be sure who is involved, what is expected of you, or what your rights are. OBK provides calm, confidential safeguarding advice so you understand what is happening, what the concerns really mean, and what you can do next.

One-to-one advisory sessions with a qualified, independent social worker. We listen carefully, explain how children's services, schools, health and the police work together, and help you make sense of letters, plans and meetings such as Section 17, Section 47, Child in Need and Child Protection processes.

Who this service is for

  • Parents and carers contacted by children's services
  • Grandparents and kinship carers worried about a child
  • Families involved in pre-proceedings (PLO) or care proceedings
  • Individuals navigating safeguarding concerns at school or in the community
